If someone were to take the risk of not wearing their safety glasses and have either a chemical splashed in their eye or get a shaving in it, this is the item to use. An eyewash station is composed of a bottle or two of saline solution, a wall mount, and often a mirror.
To use an eyewash station, simply grab a bottle off the wall, snap the top off, tip your head back, and pour the solution into your open eye. The bottles are a one-time use so use the entire bottle before stopping. This also means you need to keep spare bottles in the pit because there can easily be a need to use more than one.
Remember to check the expiration on the bottles as their shelf life is around 3 years. Refill bottles are easily found at safety supply distributors and online.
