Summary
The team prepares the robot for eight weeks to have a winning robot. We spend six weeks building the robot and another two weeks working on programming, and manufacturing spare parts. After those eight weeks, we are anxious and excited to match our robot with others. Each year our team tries to compete at two regional events. We will always participate in the Wisconsin regional. Due to our generous sponsors, we also have the opportunity to compete at a second regional. This gives our team the opportunity to engineer a better robot with modification and additional programming between the two competitions. This is another part of the engineering process that helps make our team achieve success. If we are successful enough at a regional competition, we earn the right to attend the International competition. Thanks to our hard work and dedication we’ve been fortunate enough to compete at the Championship competition four times in the last seven years. Our first year we qualified for the competition by winning the All Star Rookie Award at the Wisconsin Regional, our second year we qualified by winning the competition at the same regional, and our fifth year we won the 10,000 Lakes regional. In 2012, we won the National Safety Award at the Championship Competition.
