Our team is located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, 30 minutes west of Milwaukee. Waukesha is the seventh largest city in Wisconsin. In 2010 Waukesha was named one of the “100 Best Communities for Young People” by America’s Promise Alliance and rated 50th “100 Best Places to Live” by Money Magazine. Waukesha is nicknamed “Spring City” because in the late 1800’s people flocked to Waukesha for its healing spring water. Today, Waukesha is home to roughly 80,000 residents.
We have team members from many different places including the three high schools: Waukesha West, Waukesha North, and Waukesha South. Normally bitter rivals, these students come together in C.O.R.E. We also have members from both the Health and Engineering specialty academies, eAchieve academy students, and even homeschoolers!
One of the core values of our team is safety. Selling first aid kits as a fundraiser helps us speak about safety with the community. During fund raising presentations, we are also able to talk about our team and FIRST.
We also participate in the community through bell ringing for the Salvation Army, through answering phones at the PBS Auction, and through a presentation at Summerfest, a Midwest music festival. These events help us to give back to the community.
