C.O.R.E. 2062 has many monetary needs.
- business costs to maintain contact with our students and sponsors
- material costs to building the robot
- costs for maintenance and hardware replacement
- competitions costs, including registrations and travel
- costs associated with outreach in promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math)
The operating fund is approximately $30,000-$40,000 depending upon the game challenge, materials needed, and competition venues each year. We meet these costs in several ways.
1. Yearly students are expected to contribute with a minimum fundraising requirement.
2. C.O.R.E. sells first aid kits to increase awareness of our safety program. These kits range in price $10 to $25. These kits are specialized according to need. Some of these kits are tailored for certain situations, like our golf, child, home, auto, and sport kits. We also sell larger generalized kits for everyday use.
3. C.O.R.E. sells lightbulbs to raise awareness of our team and of the FIRST robotics programs throughout the world. These lightbulbs are the new LED lightbulbs. These revolutionary bulbs are more efficient, mercury free, unbreakable, and longer lasting than compact florescent. If you would like to learn more about these lightbulbs, or buy some, click here.
4. C.O.R.E. has developed a relationship with many generous sponsors. We have four levels of sponsor funding. Some of our sponsors provide the team with cash while some sponsors are recognized for their in-kind donations. For example, MetalTek has provided tooling and materials at no cost to the team and Magellan’s restaurant provided pizzas during our meeting time.
